"Winners
and Losers" by

Commissioned
in 1977 by Steven A. Wynn, the owner of the Golden
Nugget Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, this painting was
created to depict an old-time western saloon as it
might have looked in earlier days. Delighted with the
work, Wynn displayed it at the casino for some time,
but then decided not to risk damage from the humidity,
variable temperatures, and swarms of admiring people
in the casino, and retired the painting to his own
home.
